I created this presentation after researching into artist Lubaina Himid whilst also looking at links between other artists and the themes that their work represents.
Making a Scratch Card To make a scratch card, I added tape over my chosen area and mixed up acrylic paint and a small spot of laundry detergent. After applying a few layers and letting it dry, I am able to scratch it away to reveal what is underneath.
Collage For this workshop, I recreated the view from my room with paper. It is a development for my Point's of View project which is about fast fashion and I wanted to document where fast fashion was bought, in shops and in the city. I used collage to experiment with how I could use collage to represent light and shadow which also links into my usual simple style of shading. I like the mixture of perspective and also flatness that layering the paper created.
Stay Home Stay Supportive Talenthouse Competition I illustrated this work for the Talenthouse Brief 'United Nations Global Call Out to Creatives'. The brief was about creating art in response to the Covid 19 pandemic. A prominent message that I was seeing that I wanted to represent was that people can stay home and still be supportive whether that is keeping in contact with friends and family or giving support to small and local businesses.
